About Us

Founded in 1979, Anodyne Development Inc. provides residential, home, and community based services and support to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Anodyne Development Inc. works closely with the Arizona Department of Economic Security – Division of Developmental Disabilities (DES-DDD), and has established a philosophy and program of services which meets the goal of serving this unique population.

We endeavor to maximize peoples’ self sufficiency by providing counsel, guidance, coaching, assistance and training on an individual and group basis. While respecting the individuals’ personal limitations, we help them to use their own abilities to gain independence and to reach their fullest potential.

Our History

Our Company was founded as HILS in 1979 by Marilyn Crawford.  Ms. Crawford started by providing residential services to disabled men in an annex to her own home.  Clients were cared for and treated like members of her family until 1994 when she retired. With new leadership, HILS incorporated in 1996,  and now does business as Anodyne Development Inc.

Our owner and Executive Director is Rusty Woods, LPC took over the company in 2007. With Mr. Woods’ leadership we have grown to adding other services and residential programs to support individuals and families with disabilities. Mr. Woods has a Master of Counseling Degree and a long history of working in the Mental Health Field and Child Welfare in Arizona.

Our Future

Anodyne Development Inc., programs and services are provided in the Arizona communities of Glendale, Peoria, West Phoenix, and surrounding communities including a home in Casa Grande over in Pinal County.  We are excited to grow with these communities in the future, and are equally as committed to maintaining the atmosphere of family, community involvement and individuality that Ms. Crawford founded in 1979.
